All of the gourds are created by Karen Willingham who resides in Lafayette, Louisiana. Karen's gourds are carefully cared for, from the time of sprouting to the finish designs. Her inspirations come from all around her and each one is a unique piece of art. One thing that makes each one unique is the way nature sculpts them in to their individual forms. Sometimes designs will be duplicated, but because of the shapes, no two are alike.

A gourd is a fruit that is related to squash and pumpkins. Nature shapes them into a piece of art. They have been crafted for thousands of years into bowls, drinking utensils and even some varieties were used for food. Today they are used to craft many of the same things but also used for many other applications and designs.
